Fastest Street-legal race car: New 2016 Dodge Viper ACR

Dodge takes pride in announcing a remarkable addition to its product range, the new 2016 Dodge Viper American Club Racer (ACR). The part which will ring the bells of car enthusiast around the world is that it is the fastest street-legal race car ever.

New 2016 Dodge Viper ACR is powered by a hand-crafted 8.4L V10 engine which produces 645 horsepower and 600 lb-feet of torque. The engine is mated with a six-speed manual transmission, driving the rear wheels.

The iconic American-built supercar delivers almost 1 tonne of downforce when it is at its top speed which goes to 177 mph. The supercar features new Carbon Ceramic brakes with six piston calipers which deliver an unprecedented brake fade resistance.

The new version is designed with significant focus on aerodynamic features which makes it faster than the other Dodge Viper versions and it gets high-performance Kumho tires designed solely for 2016 Dodge Viper ACR.

Dodge Viper ACR, as its images reveal, offers a new SRT hood with removable louvres, four dive planes and detachable extension for the front splitter. The fastest street-legal race car also features coil-over Bilstein racing shocks and an adjustable suspension height upto 3 inch which is quite unique.

The price of ACR has not been disclosed yet, but the production of this American-built supercar is expected to begin later this year.
