Here are Few Top Causes of Car Accidents
When you’re driving your car, you have to be aware of potential accidents happening. Car crashes occur every day on roads up and down the country. But, what are the reasons for these incidents? Today, I take a look at the top three causes of car accidents:
So many car accidents are caused because of a drunk driver. It’s illegal to drive while under the influence of alcohol. When you’re drunk, your mind isn’t functioning properly. Your brain struggles to communicate signals, and your reaction time drops dramatically. You become unaware of your surroundings and aren’t alert at the wheel. It’s easy for you to cause an accident when you’re drunk, which is why you should never drink and drive. If you go out for a few drinks, don’t take your car. Get a taxi to and from the pub. Sometimes, you go out with the intention to remain sober, so bring your car. But, you get tempted to having a few drinks and go over the limit. Don’t be a fool. Phone someone to come and pick you up, get a taxi, or walk home. Never get behind the wheel of your car when you’re intoxicated.
Driving While Distracted
Distracted driving is a top cause of many accidents on our roads. The simple fact is, it’s easy to get distracted in a car. There can be a lot going on that takes your attention away from the road. All it takes is a moment’s distraction to cause an accident. Someone in the back of your car may call your name, so you glance back for a split second. The next thing you know, the car in front of you brakes, you don’t see it, and you hit the back of them. All driving instructors make a point of telling pupils to rid themselves of distractions while driving. It’s a basic thing that you’re taught the moment you sit behind the wheel of a car. But, for some reason, everyone keeps getting distracted, and car accidents keep on happening.
Driving Over The Speed Limit
It’s illegal to drive over the speed limit and yet it’s probably the least enforced law out there. We have speed limit signs on every road but people rarely adhere to them. Everyone seems to be in a rush, or are just reckless, and drive well over the limit. People drive ten, maybe twenty mph over the speed limit on city roads. When you get on the motorway, cars are flying down at well over 100mph! Speeding can cause so many accidents because it’s a reckless act. If you’re driving too fast, you reduce your reaction time and braking speed. It’s so easy to crash into the back of a car that brakes suddenly. Plus, speeding can cause accidents to be far more severe than they would have been. If you want to avoid accidents, then you should stick to the speed limit as much as possible.
There you have it; these three things cause more car accidents than anything else. The easy way to avoid getting into an accident is to prevent these issues from happening.
