Guessing the future of collectible car market is extremely difficult as you never know what people will be crazy about in the coming decades. It is not that difficult to predict that some of the luxurious and expensive vehicles like Mercedes SLS AMG and Scion FR-S will remain popular among car lovers even after 15 to 20 years; however, the tricky game is to guess the not so popular economical family cars that may become a collectible vehicle in future. In past, no one imagined that the Ford Fairlane of 1966, Microbus, Datsun 510, Impala and a number of other cars will be sought after in future but all of these cars surprised everyone.
I have tried my best to come up with this list of 10 surprising collectible cars of tomorrow:
Marketed by General Motors under the Hummer brand, the Hummer 2 is a large truck, although it is slimmer than Hummer 1. The vehicle possesses a lot of interior space; however, it is its classical exterior shape which is likely to place it in the list of collectible cars of future, despite the fact that it did not receive a great market response in the previous decade.

Passionate followers of cars know that there is something special about Cadillac that catches the attention of people with a good taste for cars. The big two-door personal luxury car is a treat to watch. The final version of Cadillac, the 300-hp Northstar V-8, is arguably the best ever Cadillac, with extreme elegance, style and an amazing interior. The vehicle failed to make an impression in the market but it may turn out to be a collectible car among car lovers in the coming years.
The Scion xB was initially designed to attract young buyers; however, the car became popular among the working class middle-agers due to fuel efficiency, affordable price and immense interior space, which was made possible because of the right angles. Toyota thought out of the box while making this vehicle and did come up with a creative look, and one should not be too surprised if this car becomes one of the popular collectibles in the coming years.

There is no dearth of people who dislike the second generation of Toyota Prius; however, no one can deny that it has been a major reason behind the popularity of hybrid cars in different parts of the world. Due to the increasing prices of oil and gas, Toyota Prius naturally attracted a huge audience. The second generation might not be as driver-friendly as some of the leading cars of the modern era, but it surely offers impressive mileage, which is the reason why it is expected to remain popular among car lovers for many years to come.

As soon as Jaguar realized that it was getting limited to just the oldies, it made the XJR with aluminum. Honda focused on aerodynamics and weight with an Atkinson cycle four-cylinder engine in its first Insight. Despite the fact that the car offered amazing fuel economy, it failed to sustain in the market for a long time.
