In auto industry we usually hear news about launching new models of an existing lineup but it is very rare that an automaker launches and entirely new lineup to a segment and that is a thing which made by BMW in 1999 when they launch an all new Sports Activity Vehicle, BMW X5. The X5 is ready to enter into its 3rd generation with lots of new standards, innovations and technological advancements. The new engine will not only improve the horsepower and torque but at the same time will enhance the overall fuel economy. Both the models will arrive at the US market in the fourth quarter of the 2013. The popular diesel version of BMW X5 xDrive 35d will join the models after a few months. The diesel version will come equipped with the same 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo in-line 6 cylinder diesel engine with horsepower and torque improvements plus significant improvements in fuel efficiency and performance in the comparison with previous generation models. All the models of the latest 3rd generation BMW X5 will be mated with 8 speed automatic transmission and all new models will get their production process at Spartanburg, SC, the production facility of BMW.
The exterior design features of the new BMW X5 are a blend of class, versatility and appeal. The car features a broad pair of kidney grille, stylish four round headlights surrounded by LED lights, standard LED front fog light, L-shaped rear lights, standard black roof and 11 exceptionally stylish paint choices. The interior of the latest X5 is also very complementing that features three dimensional horizontal structure surface, stripped front and rear door panels, standard navigation system, 10.2 inch control display, Dakota leather seats with eight different upholstery color choices.
The new BMW X5 lineup will be equipped with some high tech safety features such as Active Blind Spot Detection system, Speed Limit Info System, Parking assists, fog lights, rear view camera with surround view abilities, Advanced real time traffic information plus lots of traditional safety features like traction, stability control, airbags, side curtain airbags etc. The price for the new lineup of the BMW X5 is not announced by the brand and it is expected that it will be announced closer to on sale date.
