Launch of 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 and Celebrating 50 Successful Years of The 911 Lineup

On 27th March 2013, the new 2014 fifth generation Porsche 911 GT3 made its debut at the New York International Auto Show. 911 is not a new name for the Porsche fans as it is the iconic series of Porsche top notch cars however the latest fifth generation 911 GT3 is a sportiest version that comes with a number of impressive exterior and interior features and a marvelous performance. For this model, Porsche used an active rear wheel steering for the first time making it more precise, dynamic, agile, controlled and stable. The new 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 will start selling at $130,400 for its attractive and effective features.


The car come standard on twenty inch forged alloy wheels that features unique center locking hub rather then of traditional wheel bolts. The exterior of the car is very attractive that features a fixed rear wing making its look more aggressive and refined. The car employs a same powertrain like 911 Carrera S that is a 3.8 liter six cylinder boxer engine produces 475 horsepower yielding a 9000rpm redline. The engine is mated with a specially designed PDK or Porsche Dual Clutch transmission that drives the rear wheel. The powertrain of the new Porsche 911 GT3 only shares a couple of parts with 911 Carrera S whereas the manufacturer created some really exceptional and special parts for the car including valve gear, forged pistons, titanium connecting rods and crankshift. The engine can push the car from 0-60mph in just 3.3 seconds.

As compared to the other family members of the 911, the 2014 911 GT3 is lighter yet stiff as it is constructed with a superior quality hybrid steel and aluminium. The rear end of the new GT3 is about 1.7 inches wider then the 911 Carrera model. With the launch of this 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 the company is celebrating 50 successful years of the 911 lineup. For the purpose, the Porsche also launched at the 2013 New York Auto show “50 years of 911 Photo Stream Competition” where all the owners of Porsche 911 lineup are invited to upload the photos of their 911 models to social networking sites like Twitter, Instagram or Flicker with a hashtag of #50Y911. Porsche fans have to vote different models that they love and the top three participants who receives high votes will get a free professional photoshoot for their car by the company.
