Hyundai Finally Unveils 2015 Genesis Sedan at 2014 NAIAS

There has been a lot said and written about the new 2015 Hyundai Genesis which remained one of the most anticipated cars of the year. Finally, Hyundai has introduced the all new 2015 Hyundai Genesis at the 2014 North American International Auto Show for the visitors which is their second generation premium sedan. The new Genesis is based on the original Genesis sedan that won the prestigious North American Car of the Year when it was introduced in 2009. Sharing more about the 2015 Genesis, Hyundai said that it is a bold step forward and they believe that the new 2015 Genesis will offer more features and performance which American car buyers will appreciate.

2015 Hyundai Genesis - Exterior

In terms of the exterior, 2015 Genesis gets the Fluidic Sculpture design that is prominent on most of the Hyundai cars since 2009 Sonata was launched. However, going ahead with their design philosophy Hyundai has incorporated Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 which is the second generation unconventional design theme that Hyundai designers have come up with. The fluidic aesthetics make the car look modern and premium and more refined than ever before. It gets the new hexagonal front grille that runs across the car from front to rear side. It also has longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs compared to the earlier Genesis model. The front side of the car also gets HID headlamps and LED indicators and fog lamps along with jeweled full LED tail lamps.

Under the hood, 2015 Hyundai Genesis gets the award winning 5.0 liter Tau V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 383 lb feet of torque. The engine has already been among Ward’s Ten Best Engines three times so it definitely offers impressive performance and power when combined with the new HTRAC AWD system. The 5.0 liter V8 engine is mated with eight speed automatic transmission. 2015 Genesis also gets 3.8 liter direct injected Lambda engine that generates 311 horsepower and 293 lb feet which is mated with eight speed automatic transmission.

Although, 2015 Genesis has not cleared the government crash testing procedure, Hyundai believes that it is one of the safest sedans incorporated with Electronic Stability Control, nine airbags, daytime running lights, anti-whiplash front head restraints, haptic steering wheel, tire pressure monitoring system, ABS, Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Distribution.
