The immense popularity of electric cars in the US is a nightmare for gas stations. From the last three years in California, Chevrolet Volt drivers have successfully avoided seven million gallons of gas by driving more than 130 million all-electric miles.
With more than 40 percent of Volt owners residing in California, the Chevrolet Volt is by far the best selling plug-in electric car of the state.
Cristi Landy, Chevrolet Volt’s marketing director, claims that the vehicle happens to be the most popular plug-in vehicle in the US, not just in California. She said that Chevrolet Volt is just the perfect combination of performance, technology, driving pleasure and economy.
With most Volt drivers averaging about 900 miles between gasoline fill ups to power the on-board electric generator, it is widely believed that the Volt owners are extremely satisfied with the performance and efficiency of the vehicle.
Due to the exceptional savings and performance offered by Chevrolet Volt, its customer base is rapidly growing with each passing day. Analysts believe that a huge number of Toyota Prius customers are converting to Volt.
Depending on the driving techniques, temperature and terrain, EPA-estimated 38 miles of gas-free driving is offered by the Chevrolet Volt.
