Chevrolet Sonic Gets Eco-Friendly Paint

Car makers are really making lot of changes to their vehicles to make sure that they bring down environmental problems. Now, Chevrolet decides that the new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic will have new eco-friendly paint job that will bring down the level of environmental problems that are already going on. The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is the only subcompact car made in the United States and the makers are very keen to make it environment friendly from all possible angles. Hence, they are trying to focus on better paint job that can provide gloss to the car without damaging the environment.

For the first time General Motors will make use of the unique water based three-wet paint which they believe will soon become popular all over the world. With the help of this paint job process there is no need for primer bake oven. This process will use three layers of paint one on top of another before the below layer dries out. General Motors claims that this will reduce the paint shop footprint by 10% and provide extra space on the production floor and even reduce the amount of energy and heat that is required to dry the paint. This process does not take away any shine from the final output. In fact, General Motors claim that the car will look better and glossier than before and the colors will last really long on the car. With this eco-friendly paint job method companies can save more than 50% of their energy power.
