Chevrolet Improves TapShift Technology in 2012 Camaro ZL1

Chevrolet has been riding high with some of the top awards that they have gathered in the last few months and therefore they are trying to make things better for the new cars that they have launched recently. Chevrolet recently announced that they are really impressed with the top performance from their new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 which will be available for the consumers this spring. However, to make things better the auto maker has now decided to incorporate the newly improved TapShift technology which will make automatic transmission even better for the consumers.

Although, the TapShift technology was introduced years ago, General Motors never thought about improving the technology that they brought to the market. The technology would allow drivers to control the up and down shift with paddle shifters but it was only in 2012 that GM engineers thought about taking this technology to the next level where they can improve the tap response without any changes in the hardware. The newly improved TapShift technology is 60% better than the previous technology making it convenient for the drivers to control the speed of the car.

Eric Fedewa, Director of Global Powertrain Forecasting at IHS Automotive said that it is always better for the drivers to get to the next gear quickly without much effort and that is exactly what the TapShift technology provides. With ZL1’s automatic performance it will be a satisfying experience for the drivers because they can enjoy the six speed automatic transmission in a better way with the new Camaro ZL1.
