Find Out Why You’ll Fall In Love With The New Toyota Verso

If you are thinking of buying a new car soon, one model that might feature on your shortlist is the new Toyota Verso. First unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, you will find the Toyota Verso in Europe and other parts of the world.

But why might you want to buy one? It turns out that there are plenty of reasons. And most of those reasons will make you fall in love with this practical and stylish car! Intrigued? Keep reading to find out more about the Toyota Verso!

It’s more than “just a car.”

The Toyota Verso is an MPV or “multi-purpose vehicle.” In other words, it does more than just transport the driver and their passengers around!

It is available in five or seven-seat formats, and looks more stylish than its competitors. If you are seeking a car that offers lots of room, is practical and is pleasing on the eye, the Toyota Verso is the car for you.

Engine choice

Some MPVs have lacklustre engines as standard, but this isn’t so with the Toyota Verso. The following engines are on offer:

  • 1.6-litre petrol – manual transmission, 132 brake horsepower. 0-60 mph in 11.7 seconds, 42.8 mpg. Emissions of 154 g/km.
  • 1.6-litre diesel – manual transmission, 110 brake horsepower. 0-60 mph in 12.7 seconds, 62 mpg. Emissions of 119 g/km.
  • 1.8-litre petrol – automatic transmission, 147 brake horsepower. 0-60 mph in 11.1 seconds, 41.5 mpg. Emissions of 159 g/km.

As you can see from the engine choice above, there is something to suit everyone. It’s pretty obvious that the Toyota Verso isn’t going to beat any Ferraris anytime soon. But if you wanted a super-powerful car, you would buy something like a Ferrari!

But for practical, everyday driving, all three engines offer good performance. They also offer exceptional fuel economy and low carbon emissions, to boot!

Features are well-provisioned across all trim levels

The new Toyota Verso comes in three trim levels: Active, Icon and Excel.

Active features halogen DRLs (daytime running lights), front fog lights, and “follow-me-home” headlights. It also comes with air conditioning and electric front windows as standard. The rear spoiler also adds a nice sporty touch.

The “Icon” has dual-zone air conditioning and cruise control. They are features you would often find in luxury cars as standard! The rear-view parking camera makes parallel parking a doddle. Inchcape Toyota says the Toyota Verso Icon also features Bluetooth connectivity and privacy glass. 16-inch alloy wheels add to the sporty look of the Verso Icon.

Finally, we have the Excel range-topper. The exterior benefits from 17-inch graphite alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers and silver roof rails. Headlight cleaners ensure that your headlights are never covered in dirt or mud.

It also features a “smart” entry and start system, and rear window sunshades; perfect for the kids!

It’s a safe car to drive

As you would expect from a car maker such as Toyota, the Verso is a safe car to drive! It received five out of five stars from Euro NCAP and was the safest car in the MPV class for 2010.

What are you waiting for? Go and buy one now!
