Santa Catarina State in Brazil is proud to roll out its first car from BMW group that has been completely assembled in the South American automobile plant. The production capacity of the plant is more than 30,000 vehicles annually, and it will get more than 200 million Euros as investments. BMW 328i Active is the first model to roll out of the plant. The car runs on of either ethanol or petrol and has been specially designed to be adjustable so as to meet the needs of the consumer on the Brazilian roads.
The South American automobile plant will create around 1,300 new jobs. Already, about 500 employees are on board, and the production site will also include a body shop and a paint shop. Further models that will roll out of the plant are BMW X1, BMW 1 Series 5-door model, MINI Countryman, BMW 3 Series Sedan and BMW X3.
