Every year, companies all around the world strive to develop never before seen cars having mind blowing new features. Cars are becoming sleeker, faster and more fuel efficient than ever before and all are accompanied with even better luxury features. Read on more on my favorite technologies, concepts and models as far as the car industry is concerned. The way the automobile industry is moving into the future, you will need to update that dream car of yours that you have been craving for so long.
You do not need a hundred thousand dollar car if you want one that looks like a sports car. Hyundai’s Veloster Turbo is well worth the wait that looks like it drove right out of a movie with its sporty and stylish look and costs only 23,950 dollars. However, it lacks the power to back up its attractive exterior. But if you are willing to wait a little while longer, you can fill in the loophole with its 201 horsepower version. That is a massive jump (about 45 percent) from the previous version’s horsepower and the release of this car will definitely be a good sign regarding Hyundai’s future models with equal emphasis on performance, design and quality along with affordability.
SRP Viper 2013
Before going into details about its performance etc., take a first look at Chrysler’s supercar and you will say ‘wow’, because this car is definitely a looker with a body made up of magnesium, aluminum and carbon fiber and a red, ultra- sleek design to boot. It has a v-10 engine with 640 horsepower. It takes 3.5 seconds for this car to go from 0 to 60 and has a maximum speed of 206 mph. The engineers also have reduced the weight of the car as compared to previous Vipers, which makes it all the more attractive. However, all these features are equaled in price too, with a cost of 100,000 dollars. But I say, it would be totally worth it if it manages to beat the Ford Shelby GT500 which has a lower price and is also jam packed with similar excellent features.
Porche’s Partnership with Aha
Porche is known for their excellent cars which provide amazing driving experiences because of the latest and innovative technologies they tend to keep surprising us with. Every year, they have to come up with some novel technology that makes us want to keep reverting back to their cars, and this year they are integrating Aha’s ‘infotainment’ (a combination of information and entertainment) service into their cars, which will be accessible to drivers as well. The users simply have to download the application onto their smartphones which will give them access to a combination of 30,000 internet radio, social media and other streaming content ‘channels’. They can even use Google search on this new service. To make the experience even smoother, the drivers can control all that through a simple touchscreen in front of them as a part of the Porsche Communication Management system.
General Motor’s Dashboard Development
Looks like this year is meant for new and improved infotainment services being integrated into cars and General Motors is throwing in their two cents with a variety of excellent new applications, available free to download by the customers. I believe after they have started to concentrate on developing their dashboard, it is ready to go the extra mile to stand out and they are doing very well indeed. Developers have to get their apps approved by General Motors through an online portal and if approved, have to help in testing it before it is released to the public. The apps will also be supported by infotainment system, but no earlier than 2014 and only in a few cars.
Subaru Combines Infotainment with Security
Subaru has also entered into the field of infotainment services integrated into its cars for an enhanced experience, expect in their case it packs a punch with extra security features added into the services. The cars will feature a Starlink connectivity suite which will include infotainment services along with features ensuring safety and convenience. It also includes Aha’s service through which drivers will be able to stream content and listen to the radio on demand and access thousands of stations and services. A further addition is the EyeSight which helps users drive safely and ensures that the chance of an accident is minimal in case the driver is too busy engrossed in the infotainment service. It uses dual cameras, which can detect oncoming pedestrians and also help in cruise control.
After ending production of the previous version back in 2005, Acura is back with a bang with its new and improved NSX replete having a hybrid system (although they kept the same engine as in the previous edition). With its sleek robotic features and a V-6 engine that is connected to a dual clutch automatic transmission having a built in motor, it is sure to be hit amongst the audience this time around. The system also allows users to drive with electric only operation using only its front wheels (the most impressive feature, I think). Acura is aiming for a lighter vehicle with a greater ratio of power to weight and one that is more fuel efficient (since that is fast becoming a decisive factor). Judging from all these mind blowing features, the price is definitely going to surpass the $100,000 mark.
Chevrolet’s concept car is in sharp contrast to Acura’s NSX as far as design is concerned with the latter having more emphasized and sharp features, whereas Code 130R is more smooth and rounded. The car is a rear-wheel-drive, four-seat coupe with a four cylinder that is turbo charged and can hold up to 1.4 liters. It is also equipped with mild hybrid technology and the engine can produce up to 150 horsepower worth of power which will most certainly attract a lot of nods of approval. It is bound to attract young customers who are looking for functionality along with some thrills. The pricing will be very competitive at $25,000 which makes this one my personal favorite.
