The Ford Motor Company has raised the curtains from its all new F-150 at the North American International Auto Show 2014. The pickup truck is a lighter yet sturdy innovation in its breed.
What makes F-150 standout of the crowd is its strong steel frame and a body carved out of aluminum-alloy material, successfully losing an impressive 700 lbs as compared to its predecessor. The lighter weight has made the pickup truck faster and efficient in maneuvering across those lumpy routes. 95 percent Military-Grade aluminum alloy body, paired with 77 percent high strength steel frame empower the truck almost invincible to any physical dangers, making off-road driving experience even more adventurous.
Under the Hood
Ford has put its utmost potential in maximizing the truck’s efficiency, without compromising on its overall performance. Driven by a range of four powerhouse engines, including the 2.7-liter EcoBoost, 3.5-liter, EcoBoost 3.5-liter and 5.0-liter V8, the truck generates an astounding horsepower and ideal torque supported by a variable-displacement oil pump. The company also hopes the truck to be low on fuel consumption, delivering around 30mpg fuel economy.
A ‘Smarter’ Truck
Apart from fuel efficiency and strength, the 2015 Ford F-150 is loaded with features that make it smarter than the previous models. Auto start/stop technology and a 360 degree rear view camera incorporated within F-150’s body ease off the pressures of handling. The 400 watt power outlets embedded in the interior deliver the freedom to take your work and entertainment with you. The Dynamic Hitch Assist makes the right connections and ensures stability until you reach your destination. It guarantees that the truck and trailer brake at the same time. Other exciting features include: Curve Control, Cruise Control, box-side step and rear seat under-storage.
Ford has also demonstrated its technological expertise on the2015 F-150 exterior by putting a remote-controlled tailgate and the all-seeing LED headlights. The truck’s cargo box and side-view mirrors have also been illuminated with flashy LED technology. The Dynamic Hitch Assist technology is F-150’s yet another exclusive feature, which provides drivers with an improved, well-controlled towing and hauling capability.
Tested and Proven
Ford has always strived in providing performance-driven vehicles to its customers. Going through several tiring test sessions within the company premises, the 2015 Ford F-150 also proved its outstanding potential when it dominated the Baja 1000 this year.
Strength, durability and technology together in the all-new 2015 F-150 is indeed an evolution in the large-sized truck category, making it most desirable among truck lovers. The truck is to hit the market later this year; however, the exact pricing information and performance figures are yet to be revealed by the company.
