BMW has always been known far and wide for producing hybrid vehicles that leave a mark in the hearts of users. Recently, two intrinsic revelations brought to light the latest inventions made by the automobile manufacturers. They included the beautifully crafted X4 model of xDrive28i and its sibling the xDrive35i. Since the unveiling, users have been keen on the one relatively cheaper version which is the 28i since it delivers most of what the 35i already does. The 28i model is a 5-door coupe that has intelligent specs for the contemporary road user.
The 28i auto is propelled using a 16-valve 4-cylinder 2-ltr Twin-Turbocharged horse engine. The powerhouse produces power of 240 hp at 6500 rpm. That direct energy injected engine placed in the front section leaves the torque at 258 pound-feet at 1450 rpm. With such power and a curb weight of 4159 pounds, the motor propels at an amazing speed of 5.9 seconds at 0 to 60 mph. The speed also gives it a high speed of 143 mph for fast cruising. The newer transmission mode encompasses both the automatic and manual transmissions.
An 8-speed transmission comes with the automatic drive while offering a shift function for users to change from automatic to manual drive. The fuel economy for the X4 28i has a brilliant 21 mpg according to our test drive observation. However, on the EPA standards, the city and highway driving of the coupe results to 20 mpg and 28 mpg fuel economy respectively. With a base price of $45,650, the intercooler motor is relatively cheaper than its competitors, including the Porsche Macan that is $5,000 more expensive and the Audi Q5 that stands at $47,925 tops.
The four-wheel drive has enough room for five passengers who will enjoy the well-modified ambience of the X4. With the sporty interior, the BMW Navigation System and an enhanced infotainment system with BMW Apps and a recent iDrive 4.2 with touch status, the occupants will worship the model’s magnificence. As usual, BMW has not forgotten that speed arrives with safety and therefore offered gadgets such as the Active Driving Assistant and the flagship BMW Assist eCallTM.
The inventors of next year’s xDrive28i have not forgotten the reason for BMW existence, which is primarily a touch of class, sophistication and competitive luxury standards. With essentials like the delicate mixture of trims and accents made from Burl Walnut Wood and Chrome, users are sure to feel the fundamentals of riding on a prototype.
