2014 Bentley Flying Spur – Review

The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur is the sedan version of the Bentley’s popular Continental coupe and the new model didn’t lost any of its continental sophistication and appeal but even has got certain new features to make the experience unforgettable. This is now a complete luxury car built to deliver a unique feel of comfort, dynamic riding experience, improved rear seats, lots of features for the rear passengers/owners and a unique and head turning look. The new Flying Spur measures same length, height and width to the Bentley’s Continental and is offered in a single base trim.

The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur has now a longer and outer nose with bolder, bigger and outer LED headlights, square rear shoulders, stylish “B” on the fender vents, more rigid and 50 kg lighter, the front grille is positioned upright, power rear sunshade, standard 19 inch polished alloy wheels, power glass sunroof and so the new 2014 Bentley Flying Spur looks like a high end grand Tourer.

The five seats new Bentley packs a number of conveniences, entertainment and electronics features deliver comfort, luxury and technology. The interior features keyless entry, remote windows, heated mirrors, 14 way power driver and front passenger seats, height adjustable driver and passenger seats, multi-level heating driver seat, premium leather upholstery, front and rear cupholders, cruise control, leather wrapped tilt and telescoping steering wheel, front and rear floor mats, four zone climate control, turn signal in mirrors, 8 speaker sound system with Sirius satellite radio and CD player, audio remote control, memory card slot, trip computer and front and rear parking sensors. The 2014 Bentley Flying Spur now adds an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. A Multimedia Specification package is optional on the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur that offers a Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity, veritable patch bay of USB, Premium Naim system, headphone ports and dual 10 inch LCD’s for the entertainment of rear seat passengers. The cargo capacity of the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur is 15.6 cubic feet.

Under the Hood

Under the hood, the new 2014 Bentley Flying Spur employs a 6.0 liter Twin-Turbo W12 engine produces 616 horsepower and 590 lb ft of torque and is mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The EPA estimated fuel economy is 12 mpg city and 20 mpg highway and the AWD is standard. The car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds with a top speed up to 200 mph. The new 2014 Bentley Flying Spur sheds 110 pound weight that is improving its power to weight ratio by 14 percent.

Safety Features

Dual front and dual rear side mounted airbags, front and rear head airbags, 4-wheel ABS, traction control and stability control, tire pressure monitoring system and Electronic brakeforce distribution are standard safety features of the new 2014 Bentley Flying Spur.

The estimated base price of the 2014 Bentley Flying Spur is $200,500 and the car will go on sale this summer as a 2014 model year.
